STUDY CENTRE
The Study Centre of the Fondazione Accademia Ducale is actively engaged in researching, promoting and sharing Italian and international musical heritage, with a particular focus on both historical music and contemporary works.
Of particular importance is its collaboration with the Centro Ricerche Musicali LvBeethoven.it, which made possible the first performance of Giovanni Claudio Traversi’s arrangement of Beethoven’s Macbeth Overture, as well as the preparation of previously unpublished works by Beethoven, given their world premieres by the Ensemble Accademia Ducale.
A central focus is the rediscovery of little-known or rarely performed composers, with the aim of recovering and making accessible a cultural heritage of great value.
One strand of the Study Centre’s research is devoted to the Ibero-American Baroque, a musical tradition that flourished in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries in the Spanish and Portuguese colonies of Latin America, in territories such as Mexico, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil, where music served as a means of evangelisation and a vehicle for cultural development and the shaping of identity.
The findings of this research are presented to the public during the concert seasons and shared through the Foundation’s Web TV, which features thematic discussions and interviews with distinguished guests. The Foundation also runs an official blog, offering reflections, analysis and insights into the meaning of art today, enriched by audio content and interviews with leading figures from the Italian and international music scene.
The Study Centre has also published a book and a CD, drawing on the Foundation’s research and artistic work to provide a lasting record of its achievements and bring them to a wider audience.

Centro Ricerche Musicali lvbeethoven.it
The Centro Ricerche Musicali is an independent association of scholars and artists. A non-profit project, the CRM aims to make Ludwig van Beethoven’s entire artistic output accessible to all visitors, whether music lovers, students or scholars, from his great symphonies to the smallest musical idea sketched by the master from Bonn.
The CRM collaborates with musicians, institutions and research centres to explore every aspect of Beethoven’s output, as well as works connected with his artistic production. Our contributors edit scores and manuscripts and provide assistance with writing CD booklets and programme notes.
