Edited by M° Giuseppe D’Amico, Artistic Director of the Fondazione Accademia Ducale Centro Studi Musicali

In collaboration with the Centro Ricerche Musicali www.lvbeethoven.it

This publication was made possible thanks to the support of the Direzione Generale Educazione, Ricerca e Istituti Culturali.

A copy of the book is held in the prestigious Beethoven House Library in Bonn.

Edited by our Artistic Director, M° Giuseppe D’Amico, the volume is part of a larger artistic and cultural initiative focused on rediscovering lesser-known works by Ludwig van Beethoven, a central figure in the history of Western music.
The project brings together musicological research, repertoire development, and public outreach to offer a fresh look at an often-overlooked side of Beethoven’s legacy.

Through a collection of short essays and in-depth analyses, the book presents a contemporary interpretation of Beethoven’s ideas and compositions, combining accessibility with academic rigor.
It is designed both for musicologists, performers, and researchers, and for a wider audience that values music as a universal language and a shared cultural heritage.

A key aspect of the project is its focus on music’s role in society. It encourages new ways of engaging with classical music by promoting performances of Beethoven’s symphonic works in transcriptions for smaller ensembles—making them more accessible for local communities, small towns, and intimate venues.

This book is meant to be both a tool for knowledge and a statement of cultural responsibility. By shining a light on underappreciated works, it helps build a future where beauty, art, and historical memory are truly shared and accessible to all.

I NUOVI FIORI DELL'ACCADEMIA - Live

Il primo CD della Fondazione Accademia Ducale centro studi musicali

With I Nuovi Fiori dell’Accademia – Live, Fondazione Accademia Ducale Centro Studi Musicali proudly presents its first official recording—a concrete expression of its vision, shaped by research, passion, and cultural commitment.

This live album showcases the energy and versatility of the Foundation’s Ensemble, taking listeners on a journey through different musical eras and styles. From the Baroque elegance of Ignacio de Jerusalem y Stella to the contemporary language of Gilberto Bosco, and including rarely performed works by Beethoven—such as the Macbeth Overture (rediscovered in collaboration with Centro Ricerche LvBeethoven.it) and the well-known Septet Op. 20—each piece contributes to a musical identity rooted in exploration and dialogue between past and present. Accompanied by liner notes by musicologist Renzo Cresti, the album offers a rich and engaging guide to this unique listening experience. This debut recording reflects the Foundation’s mission: to preserve and expand the musical heritage with care, scholarly depth, and creative vision.

Produced with the support of Fondazione Matera-Basilicata 2019.
